ABOUT the breakneck & wilkinson memorial trailhead closures
Attention hikers:
BREAKNECK RIDGE TRAILHEAD & WILKINSON MEMORIAL TRAILHEAD are CLOSED as of APRIL 21, 2025
The existing LOWER BROOK TRAIL closure will continue.
These trailheads, off of NY-9D, are closed until further notice.
Metro-North Railroad’s BREAKNECK RIDGE TRAIN STATION is also CLOSED.
ALL PARKING on ROUTE 9D is PROHIBITED in the area north of the tunnel.
Closures are expected to remain in effect for two years.
Why are the closures happening?
Something exciting is coming!
Work has begun on the Breakneck Connector and Bridge, a project that will make the Route 9D corridor safer for hikers and motorists.
